Curated special exhibitions of local, national, and international artists within Isaiah Zagar’s art environment and community art centre. Priority was given to self-taught, mosaic, or folk artists who demonstrated an unconventional understanding of material or who approached their artistry in inventive, nontraditional ways.
Curatorial
Identified potential artists for exhibits and residencies in collaboration with management team and in alignment with the museum’s mission and values
Fostered strong and lasting connections with the Mexican Consulate of Philadelphia, the Mexican Cultural Centre, and other local nonprofits that aid in the wellbeing of marginalized communities to create accessible programming
Expanded visitor accessibility by collaborating with translators to design bilingual elements for exhibitions
Directed concept development, digital renderings of layouts, installation, and opening receptions of each exhibition
Enhanced exposure of PMG by co-curating an exhibition at the Philadelphia International Airport
Curated a series of sold-out artist talks, studio tours, and happy hours, in conjunction with each exhibition
Helped insure Isaiah Zagar’s legacy by developing systems to map and catalog Isaiah Zagar’s 220+ public murals and PMG’s unique on-site folk art collection
Managerial
Executed exhibition transitions and opening reception schedules for supporting staff; created and met all deadlines for exhibition production; oversaw work of exhibitions assistants and volunteers
Planned with PMG management team about exhibition content and procedures
Led presentations, training opportunities, and interviews between exhibiting artists and staff
Utilized excellent conflict-resolution skills to resolve differences when working with challenging artists, museum visitors, and art collectors
Directed the graphic designer in creating all elements of exhibitions design work, including marketing materials,style guides, graphics, and exhibition titles
Developed and oversaw exhibition budget; Increased funding by 10% by securing grant income from Philadelphia’s philanthropic organizations
Oversaw all artwork handling and shipping, including examining works and completing condition reports
Managed all artwork sales, communication with buyers, shipments, and special visits

Programming
Led Programming Committee in curating events that unify, empower, and inspire a growing community of arts leaders emerging in Greater Philadelphia through professional development, networking, and advocacy. EAL:P is a working board of volunteers that are united in providing resources for those who want to excel in Philadelphia's thriving arts scene.
Worked with Governance Committee to curate annual “Creative Conversation” conference; voted on themes and topics of the conference; voted on keynote speaker; assisted in venue search and rental; sought and invited arts professionals to lead breakout sessions for program participants
Led collaboration efforts with other programming committee members to organize and host 20 events and programs throughout Philadelphia
Organized and lead monthly Programming Committee Meetings
Reported to the board about program attendance, audience participation, and recruitment of new members

Participated in quarterly board meetings; voted on updates to the EAL:P bylaws, annual budget, and appointments of board president, vice president, and new board members

Curated the annual “5 into 1” exhibition at Moore College of Art and Design that celebrated the achievements of selected students from five Philadelphia art colleges and universities.
Revamped the curation process and created efficient organizational systems
Created an online application to streamline incoming portfolios and artist biographies
Established and oversaw time lines and managed two curators in organizing the exhibition
Wrote grants and increased “Best in Show” award by $1,000 and gained additional funding to appropriately compensate curators and keynote speaker
